Dave and Ethan celebrate the 40th anniversary of Weird Al’s “Another One Rides the Bus” with guest Beefalo Bill Burk, who was on hand – and added miscellaneous insanities – on the day that legendary song was performed live for the first time on The Dr. Demento Show on September 14, 1980.
Besides being a long-time Dr. Demento Show sidekick, Beefalo Bill and Al were Cal Poly classmates and both KCPR deejays. Bill is also an avid photographer, with one of his photographs appearing in Bermuda’s book, Black & White & Weird All Over – The Lost Photographs of “Weird Al” Yankovic ’83 – ’86.

Besides being a long time mainstay on The Dr. Demento Show, Beefalo Bill and Weird Al were college classmates and both deejays at KCPR. It was on a camping trip to Bill’s family cabin in which Al wrote “Another One Rides The Bus”. Bill is also a professional nature photographer, with one of his photographs appearing in the upcoming Black & White & Weird All Over – The Lost Photographs of “Weird Al” Yankovic ’83 – ’86 book.
